I just got a ceramic coating, now what?
Congratulations, you just got your first Ceramic Coating! You may be asking, now what?
It’s important to understand that while your ceramic coating is one of the most modern and advanced forms of paint protection, it still needs to be cared for properly. Sure, there is now a protective barrier on your vehicle, which is great, but there are some things to consider such as durability, driving habits, washing and care habits.
There are many variables that come into play in determining the lifetime of your coating. Some coatings claim one, three, five year and even lifetime durability. However, the lifetime of your coating is going to heavily depend on your driving habits, and the frequency in which you care for the coating. For example, all things equal, pretend you have two of the exact same year, make and model of any car of your choice. And they both have a three year coating applied by the same company/brand. Owner #1 keeps their car garaged, drives on weekends only, and washes the car weekly with proper washing techniques and product. Owner #2 keeps their car outside year round, uses the car daily for work, school, etc. and washes it occasionally when they have time. Who do you think is going to get more durability/longevity from their ceramic coating? It’s a no brianer! Owner #1 of course. Just like anything in life, what we get out of any particular thing is determined almost entirely by the effort we put into it. It is no different in the care for and upkeep of your ceramic coating. We want to recognize that some people purchase a coating with the idea that they never have to wash their car again. This is not true! While you can rest assured knowing that your car is protected by your coating, we just want you to be aware of the fact that you will get much more out of your coating with continued, regular upkeep. This is a great, unabashed opportunity to plug the NC DETAIL maintenance plan for your vehicle. Check it out at the bottom of our pricing page!
